Marketing

over 40 years Potential has been marketing a wide range of recovered materials to domestic and export destinations: paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, and metals.

Facility Operations

Potential has award-winning experience operating cost effective sites, including selecting the equipment and managing the “Rethink Waste” Shoreway Environmental Center in San Carlos CA.

Revenue Enhancements

Potential is experienced in a wide variety of cost sharing and revenue enhancement programs. We are interested in exploring various options with suppliers related to processing costs, revenue sharing, and market risk.

Material Recovery Facility (MRF)

Potential’s MRF in Wilmington (Los Angeles) CA deploys state-of-the-art equipment, including: Metering Bins; Steel Screens for OCC and Glass; Rubber Screens for Paper; NearInfra-Red optical sorters for both Paper and Plastics; Magnetics; Air Drum Separator; and an Eddy Current separator.

Waste Diversion

Potential helps municipalities, haulers, and businesses meet diversion requirements  using traditional recycling methods and customized collection, sorting and processing techniques.

Sustainability

Recycling becomes sustainable when costs for collection and processing costs are paid for by revenues from commodity sales or other sources.   Scrap value revenues which fall short of covering recycling costs can be supplemented by prepaid deposits, product/packaging taxes, or recycling fees.

About Us

As communities seek greater diversion rates and “zero waste” goals, it is increasingly important for them to recover more nontraditional materials, and have reliable markets for these materials. Potential Industries leads the way: for the past ten years, we have been one of the top five exporters of paper fiber from North America. Our capabilities go beyond paper, however, and we are an integral part of the ever-expanding effort to divert and reuse metal, plastics, and glass. Over the past 30 years, we have recycled over 25 million tons of recyclable materials, transforming them into high quality commodities for markets in the U.S. and China.
